Lima is the most important colonial capital in South America. One could say that there are various cities in one. A colonial city around the main Plaza (Plaza De Armas); a modern, European city, in Miraflores and San Isidro; a great beach complex with impressive cliffs in Barranco and La Costa Verde.

San Bartolo
San Bartolo is the most important beach in the region. It is a village that can be described as a small city. In Summer, the beach is full of bathers of all ages. There is a disco that opens at nights during the season. It is situated at the north of the bay, just where the Peñascal wave breaks. there also are some bars such as Huaico Pub or Kahunas.

How to get there:
You arrive by the old highway from Lima to the south. Near km 60 there is a road that has an arcade that says “Bienvenido a San Bartolo” (Welcome to San Bartolo). Once there you must go straight ahead and then turn right. Continue and go down to the beach. Another possibility is to take the south Panamericana Highway up to km 51 and then take the old route back north. After 3 km you arrive at the entrance with arcade. In front of the arcade there is a bus stop.
